Cypress is the son of Root and Branch, a gardener and a tea-maker respectively. His parents are loving and nurturing by nature. Cypress has three siblings in his clutch, one sister and two brothers; Lily, Horsetail, and Marsh. He grew up in a lush swampland, surrounded by beautiful vegetation and sparkling waters.

Cypress is the offspring of two gen one dragons.

The warm, verdant, lush homelands of his birth show plainly even in this warm fire dragon. Plates of armor, burnished brass and bronze and dotted with incandescent green crystals, flow down from his chest into the gilded edges of his glassy terrarium of an arm; though it is clearly crafted with great skill and intensity, it even more so bears the handimarks of love and care that mark all of his work. His passion is more reminiscent of the nurturing warmth of a humid summer afternoon than the sharp blaze of fire and sparks that define the drive of many metalworkers. Cypress's familiarity with vegetation and gardening meld excellently with his love for creating things both functional and artistic, resulting in a unique and beautiful skillset that is responsible for much of the agricultural functioning of the outpost. He still adores tea and surrounds himself with plants that remind him of home and family, which thrive in the warmth of his presence. Some of his smaller experiments can be found throughout the outpost as well, gifts of glass and metal trinkets and terrariums perched on windowsills, metal wind chimes hanging from eaves and wind vanes on the tops of buildings.

His absolute favorite, however, will always be terrariums; his own home is full of them, barely a fireplace and a mat flooded with windows, glass baubles full of moss and ferns and succulents, hanging terrariums and jars and a single homey porcelain tea set claiming the space.
