She wanted to be treated and raised just as her brothers were. If she was born from power, she wanted to be apart of that power.
- Vasilios, her eldest brother and the current king of Larythien, has always been her confidant and are very close. He was the first in their family to have taken her seriously, and would give her private lessons and training that were different from what she was given. He persistently advocated for her inclusion in the brothers' trainings and lessons, and their parents hesitantly obliged.
- Although not as close, Aegwynn makes for a good companion. He may be a bit full of himself, but he can be perceptive and humorous. Making light of any situation and uplifting spirits.
- Not close to her brother Thalysion, they butt heads and disagree on many things. Ethel thinks he is undeserving of his position and that it should be given to her.
- He was originally not in support of her being raised as a prince would, as the battlefield was no place for a woman (he was sorely mistaken). But seeing her potential, he changed his mind.
- Their relationship is better now after nearly losing her for good. Despite their many feuds, she is still his precious little sister.
