Born with special faceted eyes, which are beautiful but leave him with difficulty in functioning as a normally-sighted dragon. The world to him is a mass of color, ever shifting and never completely discernable. Or at least, it used to be, until he saw his reflection.

A magenta pelt broken up by a fluffy winter coat of white. A highly contrasting combination; a chance for his brain to decode the confusion that his ocular sense created.

Soon, he began looking at the world in a different way. He watched the way dragons moved against the world, and watched where their colors ended and contrasted. He was particularly drawn to dragons who had clashing colors, as they were easiest to see against the rest of the world. And though his sight was still poor enough to hinder much of his daily life, and enough for him to be considered blind; no longer did he feel frustrated or lost due to his sight. He saw his eyes as a unique opportunity to see the world in way many others didn't, and found a love of painting to show others what he saw, and maybe, even to encourage them to look at their world in a new way as well.

The Forgotten Kingdom couldn't be a better place for him. The dragons there either had contrasting colors, or bright apparel that stood out on their scales. Not only did he fit in, the citizens were quick to accept him, even though he isn't like other Gaolers who have that natural instinct to guard prison cells.

He's taken a liking to staring at the night sky, which he has noticed is quite colorful in the Tangled Wood. He has tried to paint it once or twice, but his vision hinders him from doing so. However, he has found molding things out of clay to be fun, especially molding little stars.
