Legend tells that their scales glisten and move
As though it were made of running water,
Reflecting the greens, blues, and browns
Of the pool’s bed beneath their sparkling flesh.

Naiad dragons tend to make their homes nestled
Along pebbles on the shorelines,
Or in dark and damp river caves.
