Samson is best known for his strength and courage as well as his calm, intimidating nature. He is surprisingly slow to anger despite his fearsome appearance and has quite a lot of patience, something which comes in handy considering his role in the clan. Samson considers it his job to teach other dragons how to battle effectively, and he takes this job very seriously, sometimes to the detriment of his interpersonal relationships. He filled this role in his old clan as well, and his move to the Lanternlight Clan just so happened to happen at a time where he was needed. He moved clans after staying with the Lanternlight Clan for a night while on a trip to visit his brother at the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, as he fell in love with the little village and the array of quirky dragons, and his move coincided with Hawke's training accident. Seeing his opportunity, Samson offered to fill in for her as the clan's battle trainer, and even after she recovered he was allowed to keep his job. The two of them work in tandem with one another, with Hawke being the harsher, more aggressive instructor and Samson acting as her more patient counterpart. Samson refuses to take sides in most disputes, preferring to remain strictly neutral at all times. As a result, few dragons have ever experienced the full force of his wrath, but those who have are no match for his talons. Other dragons - especially those in his old clan, influencing his decision to move - have called his refusal to take a stand cowardly, but he ignores their remarks, deeming such insults as unworthy of his time and attention. | _ |
