Hakan was born with poor hearing. Because of it he was always shoved to the side and ignored. He eventually decided to take fate into his own hands and pick up smithing, so he would have a better shot at life. Over the years he lost more and more of his hearing, going almost completely deaf. Eventually he got sick of his clan always paying no mind to him, and he set out. Many months later he stumbled upon the Rotting Nest. They welcomed him with open arms, admiring his skills as a blacksmith. Eventually he became the clan's main blacksmith, working hard and long hours to repay the clan for taking him in.
