About Albedo Unlike his ordinary siblings, Albedo was granted with an usual morphology: the colors of Icewarden himself. No one is entirely sure what happened in his egg, but all Isomis knew was that two days before he hatched, something unusual was about to bestow itself upon the haven. Several times did Lilith awake to hear Onyxfeather's crying and groaning as she writhed in her sleep, clutching her horns and murmuring "Albedo...son of Icewarden...he's coming" and otherness. Isomis knew little what and no where about this prophecy--not even Onyxfeather or her familiar assistant. All they had to do was wait. |
As dawn broke the sky over Isomis's rooftops and the clan gathered to watch Usollir and Uame's nest with anticipation, Onyxfeather let out a horrid shriek, startling everyone. While Svapna comforted her, Lilith carefully assured the clan that everything would be alright; she had stationed Luyten and his men outside of the nest just in case, and everything was under control. Though the clan was a little unnerved, they believed her nonetheless. |
A crunching noise broke through the low mumbles of the clan as a tiny tooth chipped through the egg's glistening surface. Then, a chirp, followed by an array of dancing beams as the soft morning sun touched the young one's ice-cold snout. Albedo was born. Komorebi stepped forward to assist the young one out of his egg, but recoiled slightly; unlike the previous dragonets he had dealt with, this one's scales were as cold as ice. Everyone gasped as he came into full view--he was like a living ice statue. Clumsily, the little dragon blinked and cooed, reaching for Uame. As Komorebi took caution in making sure Uame wouldn't be frostbitten by her own child, Onyxfeather stepped forth, furrowing her brow at the child, his eyes sparkling back at her with awe. Suddenly, her gaze softened. She then turned to the rest of the clan and spoke low; "Welcome Albedo, son of Icewarden, to Isomis." |
