Kei was very good at keeping her ear to the ground and picking up on rumours, but at the same time keeping herself unnoticed. Knowing the attitudes of other dragons was key for survival, especially when she planned to leave Murkbarrow Close.

As she headed North and into the Viridian Labyrinth, she began to hear murmurings in coatl circles of a male seeking to court. The idea made her restless. It was none of her business, and she probably wouldn't be suitable for him anyway, yet the idea persisted. It would be nice to have company and affection, to be specially bonded...

One morning, while she was drinking from a cool, clear river, a firey coatl approached her. She bent her neck to drink too before introducing herself as Narey.

"I've not seem you around here before, do you have a clan?"

Kei shook her head, and was disappointed that she was suddenly tongue-tied in the face of a stranger. She had never been the most social of creatures.

"I'm sure you're more than welcome to join mine if you were looking for one. And between you and me," she murmured, her head leaning suddenly very close. "If you were looking for a mate, there might be an opportunity in that regard too. You seem like a sweet girl, and poor Estivo is a limp, lovelorn worm at the moment."

Kei gave a surprised snort.

"Ah, I'm not particularly selling him am I?" Narey chuckled. "He's a good-hearted soul. Unfortunately, that can make him suffer more hurt."

"Well, I'm sure he doesn't deserve to suffer. Perhaps you could tell me more about him."
