Biography

Titan
Shamen

Deep, sonorous laughter and curious green eyes blinking slowly at you through a black birdskull mask--Titan is a mysterious force that moves throughout the clan like a heavy, warm wind. He carries a powerful presence despite his reticence. Perhaps this is why many in the clan value his words; those who speak little must have something important to say, right? However, there is little that is known about Titan. He possesses a careful, well-mannered demeanor--quick to laugh and smile, smooth and urbane in his language and posture. Many in the clan know him to be of an honorable and genuine nature. Though, rarely perceptible is that his facade is gossamer, a stained glass window with the silhouette of something more complex and strange hidden behind the pleasantries and small talk.

This shadow is what peers out with glowing green eyes at you in the darkest of nights, in the brightest of days; it follows you through every step, careful to step in your tracks, a presence unknown and unseen. And then it takes, with a fresh breeze like a spring day and then all the breath is gone from your lungs. This shadow is an effective liar and an even better assassin, calm and smooth. This shadow loves to play, but his smile is not quite so playful; it is a coy smirk, and his gaze his piercing. Perhaps this shadow is what comes out when Titan disappears. Yet, maybe this shadow is not wholly gone from Titan: his laughter is deep and sonorous.

Titan, dragon and shadow, keeps his secrets close to heart, neither side of him willing to touch the other, truly meld together. Perhaps the quiet assassin does not want to remember his daughter's smile. Perhaps the clan's friendly resident does not want to remember the feel of drawing out the air from another dragon's throat. So he pours all of his memories into his pearl and drinks draughts of erasure so that he may remember himself as he is: not killer, not liar, but simply, Titan.

-His condition can be approached as more of him being Shade-touched, to an extent. Not born Shade-touched; it inflicted him when he was a young adventurer and wandered into the Twisting Crescendo
-Really loves his daughter Leviathan, but doesn’t want her to know about what he does so he hasn’t really talked to her in a long time
-Funny but doesn’t seem to know that he is; tells great dad jokes but in the most deadpan way possible
-Makes flower crowns and loves giving them away (a great icebreaker when he meets new dragons. who doesn’t like flowers?)
-Eternally calm and unfazed, but doesn’t know how to react to things like a normal dragon
everything is a secret
-Near perfect memory, if not for his own impact on fragmenting it and storing memories in his pearl
-Only he knows where his pearl is

Your name is Titan and no one knows you. Yet, at the same time, everyone knows you--your laugh, your friendship. You are the warmth of the darkness, comforting, kind. You weave wildflowers into crowns and leave them for your daughter, but you dare not speak to her. You do not want her to know you. You do not want anyone to know you--not even yourself.

The sunlight trickles down through the haze around you, dancing on your scales and making them shimmer. You walk among your clanmates and smile at them kindly, nodding back at them when they greet you.

The morning is calm, but you are restless. There is something in the air that makes you stop in your tracks, chilling you to the bone despite the warm summer breeze. You glance around briefly, green eyes scanning the crowd for something or someone that you cannot quite place. Your skin is crawling. Your limbs feel frozen, like your blood has frozen in your veins and all the flesh from your body wants to shake apart to escape this frigid cold.

You blink, and begin to make your way through the crowd again, almost automatically. It feels like your limbs are moving on their own, the chill almost numbing you. The sun is quickly rising to its meridian, shining bright and glorious in the sky. But it's almost as if there is a shadow falling across its rays across you. Your scales no longer glimmer and shine under its rays. The colors of the world around you mute and darken. There is the glint of something iridescent and pale--your pearl. It glows slightly in your grasp, its surface lovely and alabaster even as you struggle to see.

You try to rub your eyes with your cloak. Perhaps dust had blown into your eyes; it is The Windswept Plateau after all. Your vision only begins to darken more, and the sunlight starts looking like shadows cast down from the sky.

The dark is blinding. You breathe calmly, even though your mind is screaming to see, begging to be released from the growing darkness. You blink in the dark, unable to say anything as your memory suddenly...stops.

You wake suddenly, midstep. You are heading home, you know, but the sun is setting. You look around, trying to shake off your confusion. Your pearl lies behind you, tucked away in a crevice in the ground of the grassy knoll where you keep it--away from every side of you. Your pearl glistens, a fresh layer added to its surface. You wonder why you had come to see it. It only carries painful memories, you know.

Regardless, you turn back around and begin to head back to your clanmates. As you walk, you see a lovely yellow blossom sprouting from the ground. You smile gently. It is perfect, petals layered in a delicate, vibrant bloom. You carefully pick it, snipping its stem with a quick slice of your claws.

A rustle from uphill disturbs the sweet summer breeze that flits lightly over the grass. You blink and look up. Green eyes that look just like yours, a shade lighter, maybe, but still your eyes. You freeze, and the sunlight starts to look dark for a moment. You waver in a world in which the light from the sky bursts into a painful flickering between bright and dark, and you do not know what to do in this moment. It is too much.

Leviathan watches you impassively, her jaw locked tight. You look away, then down, unable to breathe. Your claws are still stained red and your mind screams.
