“Would you like to hear a spell or two?”
“Of course I wouldn’t know anything like that! Why would I know any forbidden spells? All these hurtful rumours… I hear Soundless forbids her fully adult children from coming anywhere near the canopy. How terrible. Tsk.”
Jynae has dwelt in the canopy of mist for as long as she could remember, although her memory doesn’t extend to her childhood and parents. The first thing that she remembers is from when she was an older hatchling, finding a dark patch in the canopy of woods that Jynae found absolutely fascinating. Pulling out her quill and her scrolls, ready to record her new discovery, she dropped her quill into the dark patch, and it soon came back to her hand. Jynae has yet to replicate the instance of giving life to an inanimate object, and she wishes to study the shadows to come to understand this power.
Some dragons in the canopy, notably Selene and Xaveria, question the legitimacy of her shadow’s mark, claiming that it does not emanate the energies that the chosen marks of other dragons such as Cladent and Enakai do.
