Sephiroth was born in a lab.
He was raised in one. Trained in one, for quite some time. Only when he had reached adolescence did he have a taste of the outside world, outside the halls of the gargantuan Shinra Tower, which some would dub 'The Fortress of Ends in the East', both due to its size and its reputation of holding a veritable den of monsters in its bowels.
Sephiroth was the star of the Shinra Company's SOLDIER program – an initiative to create dragons strong enough to do battle with the looming threats of Beastclans and the Shade. However, its true origins are much more sinister, a fact which would drive Sephiroth away from the Company.
