Biography
Discovered by Keel pinned beneath a crumbled vein of ore in an underground pool. He was mute for a long time after Finne and Millie freed him and brought him to the surface. When he finally spoke, his voice was hoarse and near-inaudible.
Goldrush is skittish, and always looking over his shoulder. One night he spoke of a massive, amorphous beast that pursued him through underground rivers until a crumbling cave ceiling left him trapped, and cut off.
After a while longer, he began to speak more, making jokes and playing word games. The delicate bones of his wings had been shattered and took a long time to heal, so he spent a lot of his recovery with Sharpe at the center of camp, who taught him ways to manage the pain. He has, as of yet, never fully healed.
He also claims that the gold rivulets set into his skin were not there before his time in the caverns. Somewhere, sometime down in the dark, they appeared.
Goldrush's eyes are bad in the light--it's not clear for how long he was underground, or where he was before that.
