Biography
Ok but what if
"Ahh.. AH!" She gasped, the pain striking her as she etched repeatedly into her pearl. It hurt, doing this, carving particular memories into the forefront of her own mind, but it was important, and this one she needed. Well, as much as she was scratching thoughts in, it was more that she was drawing them out. With a pearl as large as her's, with memories as numerous, she had to separate the important moments from those less so.
This one was a small carving, but it was taking her a long time because of its intricacies, the letters needing to be detailed, legible, perfect. That, and the fact that these letters had to be written just so to encompass and summarize all the layers below them. She let out a small whimper, a quiet "please..." with teary eyed sincerity. Please what? Please let this pain stop? But she knew better than to ask the pain to cease. It was never as painful as forgetting, for that was a pain that could clench the very soul. Please let this act not be in vain? She knew well it wouldn't be. So what then? Please... what? She wiped the tears away with a paw and blinked, getting a better look at the orb before her as she continued carving, placing the letters then going over them to etch them deeper.
L... O... R... E... J... I...
Loreji. That was her name. Before, it was, anyway. Loreji of the Spire, as she was sometimes known long, long ago. And in this word, a name she had traded for a new one of belonging in this confusing clan of flowers laced with cruel darkness, she would store her past. Not all of it, no, the pearl's body held that quite firmly in its layers, but this word would store the big events, the most important memories she couldn't let go of.
"Clean slate," she said at last, her deep, soft voice escaping with a sigh of relief and exhaustion from the pain. "And now... we begin again." A smile crossed her face as she looked up at the dark, gleaming trees of the Starwood Strand.
