Saphira came into being as a shadow of Ashera, split from her soul as they flew through a cloud of twisted magic that was hovering over The Tangled Wood when Ashera flew above the lands, travelling to find a home in The Viridian Labyrinth. The magic seeped into the young Nocturne's soul and changed her into a large Bogsneak even as it twisted a small, shadowy part off and pushed it just to the dragon's left.

When Ashera landed on the muddy shore, Saphira lightly drifted to settle just behind her, then followed her into the crowded marketplace. Every few steps, Ashera would stop and look around, confused at the echo of phantom feet. Yet, the primary never saw her shadow. When the pair arrived in the market, Ashera was approached by a black and red Tundra dragon, then helped away by the trio of strong Coliseum fighters. Saphira caught the Tundra's eyes as she followed them to her new home, and her smile was bright and happy. Chaos grew concerned, but said nothing as they made their way to the clan-lands.

Saphira never speaks, and she's always just behind and to the left of Ashera, who has no clue she has been changed, nor that a small part of her soul follows her around. But she does always have a happy smile for her clan-mates.
