Egil is a master manipulator. He can change his attitude and personality as other dragons change apparel, and he always gets what he wants.
When relaxed and among friends, however, he wears his "true" face and appears to be sociable, self-absorbed, shallow, vain, overly flirtatious and teasing, with a broad streak of vicious and dry humour. When one look past the exterior, though, one can see an incredibly sharp mind and an enormous gift for reading others' intentions, personalities, goals, weaknesses and emotions.
No-one in the Clan is quite sure of whether this really is his true personality, but the older members attest that even if it's not, it is probably close enough - discounting the fact that he most likely exaggerates his more annoying qualities just because he enjoys vexing those around him so that he can watch them bluster, hiss, grumble and growl.
No-one has the energy to lie all the time, after all. It's the sort of thing that breaks people. And one thing is absolutely certain, despite all his pretending - Egil is much too selfish and has a much too strong sense of self-preservation to ever do something like that to himself.
No, he revels in life and living to the fullest.
And despite him being a fundamentally selfish dragon, he is also very loyal.
And he has given that loyalty fully and freely to the Outpost Clan.
It's almost a bit terrifying, to be honest.
Anyone Egil percieves as a threat to the Clan, anyone who hurts those he considers his, he dismantles.
Because while Egil may not be the strongest combatant, he knows people.
