Still and stoic he stands, a boulder among the mountainous forests of pine, so unmoving that even the lichen has begun to creep across his stony limbs. His brute strength keeps foes at a distance, and his bellowing roar is said to carry across the valleys, warning all of his mighty presence. Those who are foolish enough to challenge the towering Guardian are effortlessly immobilized by only a few beats of his massive wings. Those who have stood in his presence shiver at the the thought of his thunderous voice…

“Who’s my sweet little squeaky baby boy?”

A brown, mottled frog as round as a button, lets out a tiny, shrill squeak from atop the Guardian’s horns. In comparison, the toad is but a teeny pebble, carefully stacked upon the colossal boulder. Ever so gingerly, he raises a claw to waggle in front of his little friend, and with a chirp, the warty companion opens his wide mouth and clamps down on the teasing talon. The Guardian giggles in delight. All is well.
