When the Veilspun were discovered and they began spreading across the world, one found itself lost in the Wandering Contagion. With no clan to go back to, Affliction found himself falling to exhaustion and diving into deep torpor, slumbering within the writhing mass of the Filthy One's domain. It would not be long before as roving scout from Pandemic found the Veilspun, fast asleep in deep hibernation, and brought Affliction back to the clan. Affliction was woken up by the heat of Naruko, who agreed to use his natural elemental heat to bring the Veilspun back to the world of the woken. Grateful for being saved, Affliction agreed to teach the clan all he knew about ancient magical ways, joining the ranks of the magisters and mages of the clan.
