Biography
RHAKARAS "I call out these prayers to the sky, heavy with thought, see your face I carry these memories inside, thoughts of a soul colored by love See me grow wings and fly high, passions will die down below" |
Ekrem adjusted his glasses as they started to slip off his nose while he was re-reading one of his favorite poetry scrolls. Ekrem sighed as he heard his noisy brother awoke, “goodbye, peace and quiet,” he muttered into the air as his brother, Smallwisp, knocked on the door. “EKREM, EKREM, EEEEEEKREEEEEEEMMMMM,” The three year old yelled “It’s time to get UP!!!!!!” The blue, now annoyed, dragon settled his wings, making a faint sound of metal on metal. Ekrem continued reading, ignoring his brother's complaints from the other side of the door that he had built. As the complaints got more hysterical, Ekrem opened the door and looked down at hiss little brother with hints of amusement. The small hatchling held up his hands and Ekrem picked him up and set him on his back. His green brother gawed on the metal parts of his wings. “Fooooood.” he mumbled in between bites. Ekrem smiled and walked over to the kitchen, and tore a leg off of a gazelle his father had hunted. The skydancer handed the food back to his brother and got his own helping of meat. As he started to dig in, he saw his father walk in. The navy skydancer smiled “Your brother will have the appetite of a hippo when he grows up.” He smiled back at him “brought any new scrolls?” The bigger dragon shook his head “no, but do you want to go to my office?” Ekrems father was a scholar, and his office was a HUGE library. Ekrem remembered spending HOURS there as a small dragonet. Ekrem jiggled his wings excitedly, and his brother squeaked in discomfort. “Who do you think you're talking to? YES!” he smiled After they had both had breakfast, and Ekrem successfully detached himself from his brother, they hurried out the door to make sure his father wasn't late for work. WHen they wake up to the doors of the library, his father pulled out a key from a pocket in his satchel. He put the key in and twisted it, the doors slid open to reveal a labyrinth of scrolls, neatly put in little kooks on the walls. Ekrem gasped, even though he had been here many times, it still blew him away, one day he wanted to take a tally and see how many books there REALLY where. He waved goodbye to his father and scurried to his favorite corner of the library, the poetry section. He carefully looked at the labels for watch scroll and chose one. He grabbed a few blankets and pillows from a box and make a nest-like structure, he nestled in and began to read. After about ten minutes, a pink dragon stumbled into him. “Oh my gosh, sorry, oh my gosh. I was just trying to get a scroll, sorry, sorry, sorry” The Mystery dragon mumbledEkrem looked up and saw a bright pink Fea dragon. “Hi!” he smiled at her “Were you looking for the poetry section?” he asked. The dragon nodded, looking embarrassed “oh, yea, I’m sorry if I hurt you.” The Fea worried one of their claws. Ekrem kindly held out his talon “Hi, I’m Ekrem, you are…?” The pink dragon took it and shook it vigorously “Hi Ekrem, I am Smallight.” The skydancer smiled “Nice to meet you, what kind of books do you like?” he asked while getting up and shaking his wings out. Smallight nodded “I like nonfiction scrolls, I like the answers.” Ekrem could understand that, he had liked to ask questions, he REALLY liked when he got an answer. The two dragons walked silently to the nonfiction section of the library. Ekrem settled down and began to read, making comments about what books Smallight should read as she browsed the shelves. A few minutes later the fea dragon sat beside him and read silently. After many hours of reading, Ekrem’s father walked in and smiled “Time to go!” he called. Ekrem frowned and gave Smallight a hug. Smallight nodded “see you, same time same place, next friday!” Ekrem smiled and shouted back “Poetry or nonfiction section?” “Poetry” she shouted back Needless to say, the librarian gave him a nasty look as ke walked out the door. -WarriorOfEarth |
