Hello, and thank you the hospitality. You are most kind to take us in.

Unlike my charming mate, I have a name, because my parents were thoughtful enough to name me before I left them, while my darling's parents got the call to be exalted and couldn't be bothered.

At some point Theo may grant him name, or in time my mate may choose a name for himself, but until then, he suffers without. But that's life I suppose, especially out in the Abiding Boneyard, where nothing is guaranteed.

I did not hatch in those barren desolate wastes. I grew up in a mighty lair in the Spiral Keep, filled with lots of dragons. But out here, the lair can't hold more than sixty, and in such an unforgiving land, that already feels like too many.

I have no idea what compelled Theo to build a layer amid the barren wastes. He either usurped the old leader, or the old leader, for some inexplicable reason he felt compelled to join the Plaguebringer in her realm of rot and disease.

It was long before I arrived. Long before my mate was born. Only two I know for sure were around then to remember. There was a great purging. The old male, and many others left, never to return. Families were torn apart, and friendships severed.

Apparently the granddaughter of one of the lost ones did manage to find her way back, but she's a Pearlcatcher, and I don't need some persnickety high and mighty air head, sticking her horned nose into my personal business.

I don't like people who gossip, as gossip and rumours when spread no matter how true, are more often than not a source of strife. And that lair, is cursed with four of them, and that is five too many for a clan so small. The rumour mill turns faster than the wind can catch it, and someone's secrets are getting spilled. It's always such a mess, and so difficult to clean.

And in so tight-knit a group the fights when they break out are intimate and affect everyone. It's no good. By Pearlcatcher standards, I guess none of them are the worst, but it's best to avoid them. They should live among their kind, or they should try to be more like the Imperials, they followed after, as those are proper dragons.
