- born to two of the most powerful members of the archive, sages Xenophon and Chara, Aegis was treated like royalty from the time they were a child, and what's there not to love about that?
- so delighted by this treatment were they that they chose to make their home within the archive
- unlike their brother, Patroklos, however, they had no desire to live up to their parents' solemn, sturdy reputation; rather, they forged their own as a clever, slippery wordsmith with a penchant for horrible rhymes
- the archive's perception of them is split rather cleanly down the middle, with some finding Aegis hilarious and all-around good company, and the other half finding them nothing short of annoying and privileged
- their tendency for flirtation has caught them the affections of several of the other residents of the archive, but they refuse to be tied down by commitment
