Chrysalis's notes

“Hello again, listener, whoever you are. This profile is relating to EXPOSURE, the very strange defective drone. EXPOSURE is a diminutive defective drone, and appears to be biologically similar to an Imperial. The most curious thing about it is that it seems to be trapped in a half metamorphosed state. Meaning, parts of its body are incorrectly developed, or look almost… melted, in a sense. You can even see its bones through its painfully pale, washed out hide. It is very weak, and following typical hive procedure, should have been killed at hatching. However, that plan changed whenever SORDID found it.”

“EXPOSURE was found by SORDID and their Praetorians while patrolling the outer edges of HIVE_57’s territory. It was almost fully encased in hardened building fluid, and was severely dehydrated and half-starved. As I stated before, the normal response would have been for it to be killed immediately. However, as soon as SORDID laid eyes on the pitiful thing, it threw itself between EXPOSURE and the Praetorian siblings. It started chipping off the building material, and the whole time it was cooing to it, almost reassuring it?”

“I’m not entirely sure why SORDID went to such lengths to save the creature. It dragged back to the hive, and slowly but surely nursed it back to health. EXPOSURE seems to view SORDID as some form of parent figure, and flop-waddles after them everywhere. SORDID also grows incredibly aggressive if any unapproved drones approach EXPOSURE. I watched them rip a coatl drone to shreds once because of this. Very strange indeed…”

“I plan to update this as often as possible. This is a very odd case, and I wish to see where it leads.”
