As you approach the clinic you hear a loud clatter and someone shout “When I get my hands on you, you lil’ thievin’ critter yer gonna be sorry you ever stepped in here!”.
You creak open the door to see a frazzled old spiral who you suspect normally keeps a much neater look than that of his current state. His clothes are disheveled and his mustache is sticking in all directions. After being briefly startled by your sudden appearance he says“Oh! I didn’t hear ya there. Sorry ‘bout the mess, something got into my clinic last night durin’ the storm and tore the place apart when it stole a bunch of bones off of my display skeleton. I’m thinkin’ a shattered serpent must’ve slithered its way in, they’re the only familiar I can think of who collects bones like that. Now, what can I help ya with?”
You then give ol’ Doc Cochran a whole run down of the day's events, starting of course with your authorization from Bullock to help with tracking down the escaped familiars. Cochran listens intently to your story, nodding along as you tell him about your various interactions with the townspeople, chuckling at times at the quirks he knows so well. Once you’ve finished he asks “Well since yer authorized and such, wouldja mind givin’ me a hand findin’ the rascal? Yer success with the others makes me feel like yer gonna have better luck with coaxin’ it out, than I have had all dang day. I keep hearin’ click clackin’ noises, but it’s hard to figure out where they’re comin’ from.”
“Well, I’ll be! I never thought I’d come across a bone fiend! Did ya know that these creatures are exceedingly rare? Honestly, now that I know it was this fella causin’ the ruckus I’m not so mad. These lil’ ones are solitary creatures, so he probably got scared and hid up in the attic when I got back this morning from taking care of that crazy new fae that came into town. He’s well meaning, but he keeps goin’ out to fight fer supplies fer the town an’ comin’ back all beat up. Aura is a strong fella, however I suspect he may not have a place to hunker down at… Wouldja mind doin’ me one last favor and take these health potions on over to him? Saves me a trip, and heck, you two may hit it off! Also tell Nel I'm takin' this one under my care, this lil' one needs individual attention.”
