It takes a very special dragon to get Princess Nimue to even slow down her constant zipping about, much less to make her stop and stare completely, but that is exactly what Riviel the Imperial did. Perhaps it was destiny, or maybe it was because her first look at him was when he was bathing in a nearby cove; either way, the normally ever-moving spiral spent the next few days just laying about and sighing until Skurdur invited the Imperial to stay.

Despite Nimue constantly telling him how handsome he is, Riviel is actually a very self-conscious soul. He wants to make everyone like him and never wants to disappoint anyone, so he holds himself to an impossible standard. Having someone tell him that he did a good job on something is like honey, and he yearns for that kind of praise. The fact that the clan leaders' granddaughter finds him to be perfection all on his own is quite embarrassing, though.

In terms of his position in the clan, he acts as one of the Clan's resident wizards. Magic, light magic specifically, is strong in his claws, and his most common skill is creating orbs of light that can keep the dark caverns alight for days at a time.
