A quiet, private person, Avalon is a talented artist who does Jori the courtesy of illuminating her records of visits of state. Avalon is also compiling a visual index of the region.

A sculptor and illuminator, respectively, Avalon and her mate blended into the background at the Reach. The Temple Project succeeded solely due to their skills and dedication; both serious, conscientious artists, they poured their souls into every inch of that endeavor and more than earned the right to a bit of rest afterward.

Eventually, feeling the loss of that rush of purpose and suddenly restless in a pastoral subsistence clan that they loved but which did not exactly present intricate intellectual artistic challenges on a daily basis, they asked Adecia’s blessing to leave.

(Adecia was deeply concerned–not by their request, but because they thought they needed to ask.)

It was Avalon who soothed that fear. They knew perfectly well that no one ever needs permission to leave Longneck Reach. They wanted her blessing, not her clearance. To part as close friends, always; the pair knew that they needed to travel for a while, possibly forever, in order to grow as artists and find new projects that would give them the same level of pride. But they didn’t want to be seen as leaving the clan behind. They would always be a part of Longneck Reach, if the Reach would have them.

That blessing was given wholeheartedly. For some time, they stayed in loose contact. And then, with very little warning, they vanished.

With very little warning, they returned again--unrecognizable, yet unchanged.
