Ailyth

For years, the Fae occupied a strong, old tree trunk inside the Viridian Labyrinth. The Gladekeeper was merciful and generous, and allowed them to settle wherever they chose to. Ailyth, a newborn baby with pretty green eyes, lay asleep in her bed, not a care in the world. After all, it was a peaceful night in the Fae's den, not a cloud in the sky, not a sound in the wind. But tragedy struck--with a haunting shriek, the Plaguebringer herself climbed to the top of the cliff, her great wings sending a gust of wind that rivaled that of a hurricane through the colony.

The Fae fought a losing battle as the Plaguebringer picked through them one by one, before settling on the one with the most innocence, the most potential, and the most heartbreak: Ailyth. The Plaguebringer snatched the baby in her claws as her mother and father lay covered with sickly green boils, collapsed in a heap on the ground.

"Don't be afraid, little worm," she said. "You're but a means to an end."

Ailyth was brought to the Scarred Wasteland and baptized in the Wyrmwound, which turned her eyes from emerald green to blood red, and caused haunted hands of the spirits living inside it to come out of her spine. The bones on her tail lifted and pierced through the skin, now sticking straight up, and a twisted version of her old magical power encircled her feet. With a little training and a little grooming, she became a warrior, loyal to the Plaguebringer--though she sometimes still weaves whatever tree sap she can find outside of the Wasteland into the walls of her den, a generational instinct.

During her journey to infect more of the land, she met Anafiel, a Tundra dragon wandering alone without purpose. Ailyth, pleased to see that he was not an emotional creature, invited him to join her clan. A new clan, one that still served the Plaguebringer but also put Ailyth in a position of power. After a little consideration from the slow Tundra, Anafiel agreed. Currently, the two are expecting three children.

As time went on, more and more dragons began to join Ailyth's clan, the Snow Clan. Dragons from each area around the world were brought to the Wasteland. Though the climate is harsh, the dragons are surviving--some better than others. Will Ailyth discover her roots and betray the Plaguebringer? Or will she accept the fate forced upon her?
