Many parts of the wasteland are populated with dragons and beats alike, all in a desperate struggle against the other for resources and life in the contaminated wastes. All discovered and trampled on, the wastes provide a home for a variety of creatures and diseases, pulsating with the grim energy that comes from the Wyrmwound. However, some parts of the waste are still left to be discovered by the dragons that live and infest it. Ancient parts left untouched by modern war.

In these parts of the wasteland, plants are sparse to none, and those that do exist, have long stood as a testament to the adaptability of the living. Among those who stood, some grew wise with the waste's ancient powers and magic, Atlas being among them. Rumors of these intelligent forms of plant life spread through the wasteland as playful rumor at first, slowly morphing into a twisted desire to find these ancient forms of life for their own fame and political gain. The creatures in the ancient hold, who now referred to themselves as the "ents", knew nothing of war or violence, wise and yet nurtured in ignorance by their sheltered existence. Until the questers came.

At first, the dragons who uncovered the ancient hold had no intention of violence. But when confronted by a new form of creature, which in many ways were superior in intellect and physical prowess, they felt nothing but fear. Within the ancient hold, dragons began to lash out with terror and fury, burning what they could and ripping apart what they couldn't. Atlas, the young shrub that fi was, newly touched by wisdom, could only run away on young roots as fir home burned.

Filled with vicious anger at the dragons and beasts of the world that did not wish to live in peace with the ents and other plantoids, fi declared war on the flesh of the living. Fi's branches sang of vengeance, a low howl of fury, and fi dug in fir roots and waited for fi to grow in size and strength. Around fir, secrets were shared, lies were told, and injuries were caused. Knowledge was gained and fir mind continued to evolve as fir roots grew deeper and more mature. Eventually, Dannamore was built around the great ent, and now fi rests in the center courtyard of the keep, listening. Waiting.
