Kyan's favourite food, this, along with vampirising plants, is the most effective way of providing him with nutrients. 
While risky for any other dragon to take, this medicine helps Kyan with his sunlight sensitivity. 
Woven for him by Kore, Kyan wears this on special occasions carefully wrapped around his thorns.

The Blue Vampire PERSONALITY A very skittish dragon, Vampyrokyaneos fled a fearful situation in his birth clan to settle with the clan of Tethys. Skittish around imperials in particular and hatched with a peculiar condition that limits his capacity to extract nutrients from food while also providing him the potential capacity to photosynthesise should chlorophyll be consumed, he's sparked curiosity from many of the clan - curiosity he dearly wishes to avoid. Perhaps understandably, he rather imprinted on Kore, the first veilspun of the clan he met, and Kore has helped him to find a place in the clan. ABOUT Penumbra and Hymir were not fearful dragons. Kyan knows this. Why his parents were sent out on a venture! Asked by their clan leader to venture from the depths of the Tangled Wood to the farthest reaches of the Scarred Wasteland, they'd faced down the Lord of the Legion to found a new outpost of their kind! Kyan is fearful. His parents had strength, he knows that. That is why they were asked to travel, why they were able to face down the Lord of the Legion, hells upon hells, that is why the Lord of the Legion let them settle there! His parents' certainty and strength and- Well. They had the strength to face down fearful things, certain in their ability to fend it off. But Kyan hatched weak, and strange, and without those skills, and in the lands of the Lord of the Legion, that was no good thing. His parents might protect him, yes- but not others. And none but his parents could protect him from the Lord of the Legion. He knows why he fled. Some would call it cowardice. Kyan calls it cowardice. He has been told now, by Kore, that it is not cowardice to seek safety - that it took a great deal of strength for him to venture into the unknown instead of staying put. He has never told her that the unknown was less frightening to him than Reginn was. It is nice to believe a pretty, comforting lie sometimes, so he does not tell her that. He does not tell her, either, that the one he fled smelled much like Aerugosanguis and Haema. He does not know what good it would do. He is a coward and he is weak and he seeks safety. The Clan of Tethys gives him that safety - gives him a place to stay and work he enjoys and dragons who wish to understand his illness and help him. Under Porcelain's care he has thrived and between her and Kore he is stronger than he has been in many years. He likes that. But he is still scared. There are many dragons he avoids - Menthe, though he knows her to be gentle and to be Kore's dearest friend, is so vastly huge he cannot quite comprehend it, and Menthe is kind enough not to mention it and to give him a wide berth. He doesn't know, entirely, what to do with that, that the others accept his cowardice and work with it instead of challenging him to do better. Kore has said- Well, Kore has said a lot of things. But he thinks he can believe her when she says better is something you find on your own. It's not our job to push you there - you have to do that for yourself. He thinks he's getting there.
