Caspian was born to a poor family along the coastline, and was well acquainted with hardships from the first day of his life. His family had to scrimp and scrounge for every last coin, including Caspian; a beggar as a child, and a hand-for-hire with chores and odd jobs as an adolescent.

Perhaps things may have been a bit easier if Caspian had siblings, but unfortunately his birth was a difficult one for his mother. It left her sickly and weak, long past the time one would have expected her to recover in, and she succumbed to diseases easily. This was Caspian’s first introduction to medicine. He spent hours borrowing books from the town’s apothecary, learning natural cures for any and everything he could.

Despite this, Caspian’s mother died just before getting to see her son reach adulthood. Even though Caspian had shown a natural talent for healing, this had been too much for him. To cope, he poured himself into his medical studies and redoubled his efforts to become a healer. No one should have to suffer an avoidable death, not when it leaves such a hole in the hearts of loved ones.

Staying in his home town eventually became too painful, from both the memories that haunted him and the pressing reality of his and his father’s poverty. He decided after a long, sleepless night of thinking to join a ship’s crew. Sailors are always in need of a doctor, and small odd jobs could be found in the ports they dock at. He’s been around the sea all of his life, this should be no big change... Right? Hopefully he’d be able to sign up with a reputable merchant or shipping company, but he’d honestly take whatever pays best.

Caspian now spends most of his days quietly among his current crew, slowly opening up to them. Given his constant work as a child, social skills don’t come easily to him. It gives him a rather charming air rather than making him unbearably though, and his crooked smiles and loud laughter always feel well-won. He misses a lot of references made to fantasy works or other stories, sense most of his reading has been in medical texts, and he’ll often tilt his head curiously to admit, “I... don’t understand that reference.” The crew is happy enough to get him up to speed with things. Especially the more raunchy jokes, delighting in how Caspian stutters and lowers his feathered crest when he’s flustered.

(I... am so sorry, I got carried away with this. You’re in no way obligated to use this, keep as little or as much as you like! I just had fun writing it ^^”)

Caspian, what is the silliest injury you ever had to patch up? Whether from something that could have been avoided with common sense, etc.

Caspian smiled. “The silliest injury I had to treat was a couple of broken claws on a hatchling. The hatchling tried to pick a fight with a snapping turtle and well,it didn’t end too well for his claws. Fortunately I was able to help the hatchling heal. I bet he stays away from snapping turtles now.”

Is he... you know *insert that spongebob meme* (Gay, MLM, A Homosexual perhaps)
Honestly I just saw the Pirates tab and instantly went ''Oh they all gay in some way, shape or form''
Caspian the ship doctor just stood out to me. It's the inherent homoeroticism and intimacy of tending to your companions wounds. After a battle where your both bloody, sweaty and panting, hands lingering just a bit longer then needed as you look eachother in the eyes.
Oh that will never grow old for me.[/center]
