Biography
Bred to be a memorial dragon named after my grandpa. I got the news today that he passed away (December 30, 2020) and it's been devastating. I picked Narumi and Hiroji to breed because they're Sakura Tree dragons and my grandpa was from Japan. He lived a long life, he battled lung cancer when I was a kid, and he had throat cancer a year or two ago and decided to exchange his voice for life through surgery in hopes to outlive the lifespan of his father, and so he could live to see the day that he could take me and my sister to the place he was born and raised, Nara, Japan, where we could visit the many deer that live there. But...the fact that neither of those dreams will ever come true just goes to show how little the universe cares about any of us... He was diagnosed with a rare type of age-related dementia called Pick's Disease last year, which was very hard on not only him, but my grandma and everyone else who loved him. It breaks my heart so much that he'll never get to fulfill either of those dreams, and whatever other dreams he would've wanted to fulfill...
He was a great man, if you can look past some of his flaws (like how he'd go to his favorite coffee shop whenever he didn't feel like doing his chores), he was nice to everyone, he took amazing photographs, he loved his friends and family and always wanted to have fun with them. He made a career of teaching his students English (even if it was usually a useless skill in Japan and still kind of is, in a way), and he did so in his own bedroom at his and my grandma's previous house. He was artistic (both sides of my family are families of artists), not only did he take pictures, he also once crafted a ring for me out of some type of wood, but I wore it so much that I, unfortunately, broke it. He used to write to me, even if it was on rare occasions, and they were always nice to read.
Despite the grief I'm feeling, I can at least say I'm glad that his suffering is over with. And with me having a small bit of Buddhist belief, I would just like to say that the next time I set foot in Japan that I hope his spirit may find me...and smile that wonderful smile he always had...
