Biography

Damir

Damir stands in one of the highest positions within Bristleback Burrow, but whether or not he can be considered a step below Namira is up for debate. He has authority over all of the residents of the Burrow, but if Namira's word is different than his own, they will prioritize her voiced desires over all.
He is the father of three children with Namira, but mates he would not consider them to be, as she shows absolutely no love or general interest for any of them. The disappearances of Iri and Lance sparked fury, but only a day's worth of sending search parties out for them before he noticed her no longer caring. Damir himself has always had feelings for Namira, despite being genuinely afraid of her unpredictability and violent streak. It's the fear of her notoriously vicious tendencies being passed down to their kids that caused him to be the one to make Lance and Iri disappear, in hopes that they would be safe from ever following in their mother's footsteps.
It didn't fix all of his fears, as one child still remains within the Burrow, the last child he failed to send away, and she desires to turn her mother's dreadful gaze.
Damir can only hope to guide her down the right path, knowing it won't be easy with eyes and ears everywhere in the Lair.
His familiar, Jinx, is usually always with Damir, but on the very rare occasion she is not, she's usually in the nursery by the young dragons.

"Dad! Lance!! Where are you going?! Come baaaack!!"

"Dad!! Mooooom! Don't leave me here!! Nooo!!"

Damir winced, his wings going rigid for a split second before remembering what he was doing. The terrified cries of his kids as he left them with foreign clans rang through his head, almost as though they were still right next to him. He knew he had to do it, he'd tell himself. He knew it was the only way to ensure that Namira wouldn't ever decide to taint their minds with the desire to kill and harm. As much as he loved Namira, he couldn't let her-

"Dad! Where- where we going? We going to where Iri and Lance are?"

The loud squeak of the baby Pearlcatcher in his grasp finally snapped him back into reality. He dropped his reddish-green gaze down to the young dragon, flashing her a troubled smile,

"Not quite, dear Draven. But we are going somewhere where we'll be safe and warm." He murmured to her in a hushed tone, afraid of who may be listening, despite being so high up in the sky. To the untrained, Damir's face and words would look and sound comforting, but even the young Draven could see the uncertainty in her father's eyes, even if she couldn't really vocalize her suspicions to him in a way he wouldn't refute. However, when the Pearlcatcher opened her mouth to say something, a different voice beat her to it.

"There is no place safer for a baby than in the nursery, traitor."

The voices hiss cut through the silence, causing Damir to cease his flight, hovering just beyond the clouds to whip his head left and right. From the clouds burst a Veilspun, colored like the sky above them, like a freshly defeated enemy, soaked in their own blood, but with a flash of deep blue eyes. Damir's eyes widened as his jaw slacked open, his end hovering before him, with blue eyes slitted and teeth bared,

"I never would've expected this from you of all dragons, Damir," Bloodsong growled, fixing her eyes on the now terrified Draven, "You're lucky to be this far, I almost let Lady Namira know what was happening before I left to pursue you two. I don't even think you could give me an acceptable reason why I shouldn't send you to your death at the claws of Namira right now."

Damir was extremely quiet for a very long time, staring the Veilspun down, but when she decided to speak again, he cut her off,

"Because you'd be robbing Draven of not one, but both of her parents." He hissed, hugging the young Pearlcatcher to him closer. Bloodsong snapped her attention back to Damir, baring her teeth even more,

"She'll have Lady Namira!" Bloodsong snapped.

"Namira doesn't care for her and you know this! When was the last time you ever saw Namira even glance in the direction of the Nursery?!" He snarled back, lowering his muzzle and pressing into Draven's shoulder. For what seemed like forever, Bloodsong said nothing, and when Damir peeked up at her, he was surprised to see her looking off to the side, staring in the direction of the ground. Still, she said nothing, so he took it as an opportunity to press further,

"Please, Bloodsong. You're the clan's nursery caretaker... Your loyalty to Namira shouldn't blind you to the fact that Namira truly does not care about anyone here, and especially not me, nor her kids."

Nothing.

"I will return to the clan, with Draven. I do not have a desire to be hunted down for the rest of my life. I only want to see my kids not stray down that murderous path," Damir pleaded, watching Bloodsong's eyes narrow and relax multiple times, "Please, do not tell anyone. Use this as all the blackmail you want, I cannot die here."

Finally, after minutes of silence, the Veilspun let out an exasperated sigh, before flying forward, and past Damir, in the direction of home,

"Come on, then... Let's go back home," She grumbled, "If anybody asks, Draven ran off on her own, and we went looking for her."

Letting out the biggest breath of relief, one he hadn't realized he had been holding in for the longest time, Damir turned tail, following alongside Bloodsong. He only hoped that the Veilspun would hold true to her word.

God you and Namira would destroy any sense of lore I currently have but... what if...
