He'd come to life when the rest of the clan was lost, as if their collective wills still endured and writhed within him. Like a specter that had been called on to protect, the Wildclaw had lingered around the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, flowing through the mists to speak to his Mistress, the one that had the place around one claw.

It was odd, in a way, that the Shadowbinder had been so taken by one that was supposedly forged by the Arcanist. After all, Her will worked in unique ways, and to this strange, winged beast that could barely be called a dragon, She'd been largely indifferent to his accusations. Instead of entertaining him, She'd instead showed him the history of Camelcase, years and years of a legacy unravelling before his very eyes as She chuckled, perfectly at ease at the fact that they were all serving Her eternally now, slumbering beneath the goo and ooze that took up most of the place.

Shouye was silent. Even if he spoke, his voice wasn't quite his own, instead the voices of those who'd been lost bursting forth to speak their pieces, to lament their tragedy, to accuse their god for taking them, but as the manifestation of responsibility, who was he to point his claw against everyone that had come together to weave this tragic, terrible symphony? Like a dream, he'd once again awoken at the mouth of the Forum, the only sign of his seance being the shimmering interior of his now-transparent stomach, filled with the restless souls and hopes of those who came before.

Eventually, he'd settled down with the strange hunting party that occasionally still scouted close by for signs of life. They couldn't help but find him familiar, the ghostlike markings upon him often shifting to display loved ones they would never see again, and attempts to communicate verbally or strike up conversation had met with his resolute silence.

What could he even say to them, anyway? It was inconceivable to him that they would be able to understand. Perhaps that was how the wearers of that crown had to bear its weight, and he was living proof to that.
