Biography

Mot

The rain brings ruin

The sky cracks open early that spring, and the rains are fierce. Crops and soil alike are pulled awry and washed down the river like so much dust. And then the flood comes from the mountains; the river rises from its bed and invades the homes of the clan. What little survived the initial downpour rots in the wet, and the dwellings reek of decay. With it comes death, a hollow-eyed specter of rot and waste. That on which life depends turns to an agent of death, written so by a fell hand.

Mot inherited the Omen aspect of the Incarnation. He appears in misty-eyed visions and dawn and dusk on rainy days, seen only for a moment, a warning. Then the rains come in earnest, washing clean the world of the life it once nurtured. He is one of the rarest-seen among those of his aspect, for his presence foretells certain doom and destruction of a community. It is a powerful destruction, always wrought by the rain and what follows.

It is unclear if Mot actually has a physical form, or if he truly exists outside a blur in the water. He is never seen on a clear day, and never by any who is consciously looking. The warning of his presence is one only the unwary will note, and it is one to be taken gravely. Only complete evacuation of the area is known to save the lives of the communities where his is seen; though the one who does see him is likely to fall regardless of what actions they take. It is for them less a warning and more a proclamation.

Lives claimed by the floods are doomed to wander restlessly, never moving on. Ghost towns are often left in Mot's wake, filled with the spirits of the drowned and diseased. There is no clear path or pattern to the destruction, and only the presence of a river or lake can predict where might be next.
