Biography
Crew member of the Wild Wind.
She doesn’t recall ever sitting still. “You shook your way out of your egg,” one of the older dragons tells her. Who it is changes every time: everyone who was there likes to remind her of this, cuffing her ear lovingly. “And you haven’t stopped moving since.” She thinks this is probably a compliment.
Her entire childhood is a blur of soaring in the wind above the island, twisting across the skies and shaking with laughter. When she’s not more than three months, someone - Rusher, she thinks - gives her some wood to play with, to keep her claws still and her mind focused, because she wanted to dance in the pouring rain but they didn’t want her to get sick or lost. She whittles a doll, and the next day she makes a pot out of clay and then a clay shelf. She likes the way her claws are able to mold anything to her desire, the way it keeps her moving even when she can’t be really moving. She likes the creation of it all.
Nowadays, the island is covered in things she’s made when bored. When nests are being sat on, she makes presents for every hatchling yet to shake its way out of an egg, and whenever someone new comes onto the island, she introduces them with whatever she’s created this time and a rambly greeting. And she’s still soaring on the wind, never still.
By the time she came of age, she left the breezy Plateau and said a merry goodbye to her family and friends to find something to make her life more meaningful, to learn the ways of the world. Many months pass before Summer came across a mysterious island some ways off from the Viridian Labyrinth and went on to investigate. It wasn't too long after that which Summer befriended the inhabitants in her usual manner and became acquainted with the wildclaw Captain named Thanaton and then his airborn ship the Wild Wind.
Eagerly, she asked to join his crew and learn how to be a part of his team and the Captain willingly accepted, enjoying the task of teaching another dragon the ways of working a ship both in the water and in the air, and has been a faithful crew member to this day acting as a scouting dragon on point.
