The Oasis
Ooooh! A shooting star... Azaeleus is less-affected than most of Cindercone's Lightning dragons, as he was out in the forests away from the meteor's track. His wings seem to flicker and glow in the dark, however. * Azaeleus is feeling better, though his wings have not faded. He does his best to assist the healers where he can. * Greenskeeper Gathering, always one of Azaeleus's favorite times of the cycle, is a special treat this time. He has been bouncing from celebration to celebration, singing. |

Azaeleus looks and acts more like a Nature dragon than a Lightning dragon. Softspoken and sweet-scented, he spends as much time as possible in the border forests harvesting herbs and searching for aromatic scrub. He is fairly good with Draconic for a coatl, courtesy of Imminnyll's prosthetic eardrums, but still rarely speaks. There is a mystery about Azaeleus, besides his elemental presentation: he seems to have hatched covered in nocturne armor, though no one in the clan was there to see his hatching. He looked, but did not smell, like a nocturne. The Twins like him a great deal, and Imminnyll finds having a fellow coatl about very refreshing. He, meanwhile, is entranced by the glittering veilspun, Moonglow. He doesn't do much with the rest of the clan, having little skill as a criminal or sellclaw, but is accepted for the valuable plants and fungi he brings back—since the move to Fire, this seems to be changing. Physical description Azaeleus is a big, lightweight coatl with dense, leaf-like feathers. He has a sweet scent like frangipani, and a soothing, melodic voice. A skilled flier and able swimmer, he is unusually adept on the ground as well. Combat Azaeleus is a somewhat hesitant but competent warrior. Fast and strong, he swoops in on the wing or with a quick, ferret-like dart, to strike opponents before bouncing away again. He generally fights alongside Imminnyll and Moonglow |

Origin During the Night of the Nocturne, the Twins found a tiny day-old nocturne hiding under a leaf. Despite his apparent species, he smelled wrong to Elkrekeodh. On the first night of Trickmurk Circus, however, this was confirmed: his nocturne armor cracked and broke away, revealing a muscular young coatl in his place. Since he was the same friendly being as before, the clan has largely accepted him, but he hasn't had a chance to do much. |

Kin Azaeleus's kin are mysterious, but are generally presumed to be Nature coatls. Why they nested in Lightning and how their child temporarily became a nocturne remain mysterious. |
Familiar
Having noted his propensity for attracting insects, Liglanaerr gifted Azaeleus with this insectivorous gecko when he was young. They are loyal companions, with the gecko always found on the coatl's shoulder.
