Dreadnought is an orphan who sees the sea her home and bread.
She is the captain of the 'Wavebreaker', a pirate ship patrolling Sea of a Thousand Currents. As the leader of The Shady Crew, a group of like-minded individuals with no ties to other dragons, she leads them to success in their not-so-lawful deeds.

Dreadnought was born into the unwelcoming world of being in the wrong place in the wrong time. Without parents to guide and without friends to support. She was secretly snatching food and picking up scraps for clothes on the shores before an old sailor decided to give her a chance.

He taught her as his own daughter, making sure she knew every role on the ship, so she can survive in the world. Dreadnought took his passing of old age seriously, unwilling to get close to anyone else again, until she began seeing other orphans and runaways on the shores while freelancing at the docks.

They reminded her her own childhood, the fear of getting caught and the absence of purpose in life. The last straw was the time she saw one young dragon get captured to get forcefully sent on the battlefront. World was too cruel and kids like her did not deserve to be treated like cannon fodder.

She was not the only one who saw that accident, so forming an alliance with others wasn't an issue. Her first friend, who ended up being her first mate, was Jongleur. They didn't plan to become pirates, but stealing a ship was probably not the best decision they made together. But this is how the story started.

The Shady Crew

____The night breeze was still warm when they stole the Awe ship, quickly adding letters and tweaking the 'w' to make 'Wavebreaker'. They were reckless but free. And they wanted to find others. Not to cause too much commotion, Dreadnought and Jongleur decided to act as a diplomatic ship between the flights, and although they weren't dressed up all fancy as most ambassadors of the kingdoms, their hours of practicing manners were enough to play the trick.

____It was an opportunity to pick up any willing souls to part ways with their homelands, as well as to snatch some coin here and there. They traveled between the flights by introducing themselves as 'Neutral Ambassadors' being there without bias and bringing peace. So much money and eventual power for an act of bluff and role play. The crew she formed took the name of "The Shady Crew", and any wondering soul was told it's for they travel during the night. Reality, though, was a bit more literal.
