Gecky first arrived in Clan Ksayla after one of Gingersnap and Solaris's early hunting trips. She was just a little hatchling, singing sad, beautiful songs. Gingersnap instantly fell in love with the tender melancholy of this little Mirror. The soon-to-be Queen of the Pirates asked this lost hatchling to join her and her consort. Gecky became the first pirate to join the crew of the Plundering Jewel; though the ship and the crew were still months, even years away from being fully realized.

When the Queen didn't require her services, Gecky could be found serenading young couples, telling epic tales of adventure to the adolescent dragons, or singing lullabies and nursery rhymes with the hatchlings (and Titus, though he'd deny it). She missed the Sea of a Thousand Currents, but travelling across Sornieth with the pirates was such a thrill. She comforted her homesickness by decorating her sleeping area with shells, coral, and fish bones to remind her life in the Reef.

Her life was perfect. She had all the adventure she could want, an always willing audience somewhere in the lair, and she felt her life was full to the brim. When the Rise of the Nocturnes happened, a new complication joined Gecky's life. Hooper. Nocturnes often mimic those around them, but several of the strange creatures that joined Clan Ksayla had honed in on individual dragons to mimic. Hooper had picked Gecky. He mimicked her bardic ways, trying to accompany her lute with his terrible trumpet playing. (*TOOT toot*) He upset the hatchlings with shrill lullabies that just gave them headaches. And he attempted to stowaway many times to join the pirates in their adventures.

Gecky, and the clan, adjusted to Hooper. His presence was tolerated by most, and even enjoyed by some. And Gecky had gotten him to stop following the pirates on their trips. Life was once again stable. However, the shaman was concerned. The clan could not seem to keep a Water Ambassador. This was a most terrible omen, he explained. Fire and Water have a tenuous relationship, the balance must be kept. But Water dragons simply did not stay in the clan. His own mate, was from Water, but she was not of the temperament. She was dedicated to him and her duties as mate and mother. There was only Gecky.

At first is was temporary; she was just filling in because Wavecrest Saturnalia was coming, and the clan needed a Water Ambassador. But soon she realized, much to her chagrin, that this was the only choice for the clan. She agreed to the position, on the condition that she be given a Scatter Scroll - that rare color changing magic. With that scroll, it become obvious that Tidelord was pleased, as her new colors were beautiful, and reflected the depths of the Sea.

She fulfilled her Ambassador duties faithfully, though reluctantly. However, Hooper once again became a nuisance. Not only was he a terrible trumpet player, an unwanted pirate, and general goof-off, but now he thought he was the Water Ambassador. He attempted to get in to the Spiral Keep multiple times, usually hiding in a school of fish. Gecky was regularly embarrassed when she would show up at a clan for relationship building only to find Hooper already there. Despite all efforts, this became the clan's new normal.
