The unnamed traveler was the son of a great ruler, once. The Imperial, according to his parents, had absorbed a large amount of ice magic in the egg when a winter blizzard was ravaging his parents’ clan in the idyllic Mirrorlight Promenade for several weeks. It was thought that an eddy of ice magic had slipped into the clan’s castle and affected his elemental alignment; during the critical stage, his egg had been left unattended, and by the time the change was noticed with the parents, it was too late. Even with his altered alignment, his parents loved him dearly, and took good care of him. The young Imperial was trained in the sword at his leisure, and spent his days romping in the Mirrorlight Promenade with the fellow dragons in his clan. The clan lived together in harmony—then everything changed when the Shadow Lord attacked. The midnight shade with burning eyes struck the castle and destroyed the clan. The warriors of the land fell upon him, but neither sword nor claw could damage the Shadow Lord. The young ice dragon fled from the land with his mother, but soon enough they parted ways; the prince had to travel the lands of Sornieth to learn all that he could in order to vanquish the Shadow Lord. ________________________________________ |
