Gilded claws slice through thick scales with ease. The poor victim struggles against their death, blood bubbling up from the gash on their neck. Imperium stares down with little care. They feel no remorse nor joy for the action. Killing others is work and nothing more. They wipe their bloody claws on a thick canvas apron before descending from the executioner’s platform.
It all has to be a big show. It’s always a show of power on REX’s part. Imperium, of course, doesn’t care much. Showing power through brutally executing criminals isn’t the worst way to go about it. Not to mention, the bones and skins of the dead dragons can be used in so many wonderful ways around the clan. Imperium idly wonders if they can take the skin to make a new blanket for Fel. Well, they wouldn’t be the one to make it, but they could certainly find someone who would.
Other dragons watch in fear as Imperium passes by. They are large and imposing. They are everything the clan should be. They are regal, powerful, strong, and ruthless. Most dragons who don’t know them believe them to be emotionless and heartless, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Imperium is REX’s second in command. They have no problem getting their talons dirty and they don’t value the lives of criminals. That makes them cold, yes, but not heartless.
A heartless dragon does not decorate their home with delicate white flowers in remembrance of when they first met their mate. A heartless dragon doesn’t teach hatchlings how to properly skin their hunts. A heartless dragon doesn’t help take care of the clan.
Imperium is many things, but they are not heartless. They don’t mind the views others have on them. To believe the face of the law is unyielding keeps them in check. Imperium’s cold nature keeps everything in wonderful, twisted, harmony. They wouldn’t have it any other way. Spending the days patrolling and executing criminals and spending the nights curled up with Fel is the definition of a perfect life.
