Scarlett is one of the newest gardeners in the clan. Though this may seem quite a shock given his flight origins, Scarlett actually is such a great gardener because he is a Plague dragon. Though Jingle and Jangle, some of the clan's groundkeepers, work on maintaining the watering systems and other parts of the clan's infrastructure (part of the reason you can get fresh water without having to pull some up out of the nearby river) they aren't the best at killing weeds in gardens since well Nature dragons tend to be a gentle when it comes to killing plants.

This is when Scarlett's specialty comes into play. Scarlett specializes in making a virus that can target harmful plants as well as help make plants more resistant to other harmful parasites. Scarlett owns his own garden where he can experiment with his viruses to grow more resistant plants and maintain a healthy garden. By natural selection, Scarlett will grow genetically stronger plants that he'll also crossbreed with traits that make them rather beautiful looking. All in all, Scarlett has a beautiful and healthy garden of flowers and other herbs that the clan finds quite stunning. As such, Scarlett has even joined in on growing his own roses along with Whirlpool and Shadowflare. Of course, he specifically like the colors black and burgundy in roses so he specifically grows those colors.

Scarlett also shares a great recipe for weed killer that isn't harmful to good plants and sprays that help prevent sickness in plants (even though he'd rather just grow stronger plants). Scarlett though instead will be allowed by other gardeners to help strengthen their plants by allowing Scarlett to take several of the species of plants they grow and allow him to bring them to his own garden where after a few generations of plants he will then return them to the original gardener and the cycle will repeat again. However, not all dragons are happy with this like Nightbloom as her and Scarlett often argue over whether or not dandelions are weeds or not. Of course, Scarlett will kill any dandelions that end up in his or any other gardener's gardens which makes Nightbloom quite furious. However, with some help with the Peace Lilies Guild, they managed to work out an arrangement. Now Nightbloom gets to help Scarlett with his experiments by growing dandelions as well as a small number of flowering weeds that she'll sometimes stubbornly hand over to Scarlett so he can test his sprays and weed killers on. Though in return, he does help make several special dandelions that grow in varieties of other colors other than yellow that Nightbloom likes to receive. However, the two probably will never see eye to eye when it comes to dandelions and weeds though for now, they continue to have a "mutual arrangement" though the Peace Lilies make checking up on Tricksters or other third parties that sometimes bother Scarlett's and Nightbloom's gardens a daily task.

Scarlett exists outside of the standard Gaoler society that has developed in the clan although he does enjoy spending time with Dhriti hiss mate who gets to spend the most time away from the other Gaolers given her patrolling grounds. Often, he will plant some of his prized roses and flowers along the path to brighten her day as well as walk with her on her patrols so they can spend time together. Scarlett of course is allowed to join the Gaolers however; he often stays at his own home to protect his garden from troublemakers like the Tricksters as well as the fact he enjoys living above ground rather than in the enclosed cave systems that the Gaolers occupy. Dhriti also enjoys wandering above ground to which is the reason Nadia allowed Dhriti her rank and position in the society as a seeker. Dhriti does like the society of Gaolers that she lives with though loves seeing the beautiful land above a lot more. Recently, Dhriti had even went further than her allowed patrols (during the Dustcarve Dig) and met with Petoskey an obelisk born from a statue and new to the world. Although Nadia at first was quite furious she had disobeyed the rules, she gave her a reduced punishment seeing as she was drawn there by the EarthShaker himself. Though Dhriti is currently finishing out the last weeks of her punishment, she ended up bringing Petoskey to Scarlett to while she was finishing up. Dhriti and Scarlett actual have decided to raise Petoskey as one of their own and teach him the ways of the clan and ways since he is so new to the world. Petoskey loves stopping by Scarlett's place to see his beautiful flowers or to invite him and Dhriti to fun events like Fae Football or plays hosted by the Festive Flowers. As a Peace Lily himself, Petoskey loves to advocate and keep the peace between dragons especially helping other dragons trust Plague dragons as well as help Plague dragons trust Nature dragons and help the two see each other's ways and work together. This has also helped new Plague dragons feel welcome to share their talents with the clan as well as help Plague dragons understand the methods of Nature dragons not as weak but rather as nurturing.

Of course, Scarlett is very proud of Petoskey especially now that he has grown older and spends some time with the other Obelisks that have come to live in the clan for the betterment of it. Often, Petoskey even invites the obelisks to come with him to Scarlett's place to see his plants and even make his flowers into garlands and ornamental apparel that decorates Scarlett's home and garden. They even have their own chanty that dragons across the clan can hear (Obelisks aren't exactly quiet) while on their way to see him.
