GIVER The Dull One - Envy - All-knowing It's hard to say when you got here, or why, or even how, but this party does not feel like a party at all. You sit in a long, dark room, the walls painted a rich black with a gold tapestry hanging off of them like a desperate attempt to make the place appear more tasteful than it was. The room smells of cheap wine and three-day-old dinner, stale and cold. At the head of the table, sit two large men. One wears a grey suit, it's plain and cheap, falling apart at the seams as if moths have come and taken parts of the fabric with them. Like the man beside him, his eyes too are covered, hidden beneath a thin cloth and yet you feel his eyes on you as if the man is looking into your very soul. He has no smile on his face, no emotion to detect, he sits, waiting for you to ask a question you already have asked before. When you finally ask him why or how you arrived at this so-called party, he sighs. He has heard this before, time and time again he has heard you and your foolish question. Foolish child, the man will say. You are not listening, he snaps. Run, run now, run far away and never look back- but before he can finish your meal is brought to you and set down before you. By the time you look down your food is gone, and all you can smell is three day old dinner. You look back up, when did you arrive at this party? Or how? Or when? |

B I O G R A P H Y
A creature made of wax rightly named Icarus. Unfortunately left unfinished by its creator and longing for completion. Icarus is a candle burning from both ends.
Its origin is unknown, but anyone who comes near Icarus would surely be able to tell it was a creature left unfinished. Its body is thin, left in a constant trembling state as if its thin bones weren't built to carry the weight of the heavy wax that drips from its wings and limbs. It cannot speak, just make agonizing moans as if crying out for some sort of help, a gag wrapped around its mouth to stop the wax from pouring from its maw. They called it Icarus, liking to refer the creature back to the myth of a man who flew too close to the sun with wings made of wax. No one seemed to find the irony in that statement considering Icarus couldn't fly at all. Although Icarus is weak it is not something to take lightly, the creature devourers anything in its path in order to create more wax to accommodate all that is lost from its constantly dripping body. Some theorize that if it does not eat, eventually Icarus will run out of wax and become so weak it will be unable to move. Many have tried to kill the creature, no weapons seem to work on it, its body only absorbs all that is thrown at it, the only things that really slow it down is fire, or extreme cold to freeze it, but even then it is only a matter of time until Icarus is back up and looking for another body to consume. |
