Through drifting weeds and murky green light, lies a shadow of a shipwreck.

It is just a fragment of the vessel it once was, now only visited by lone birds and the echoic cries of others who are lost. Swathed in old netting and caressed by age and corrosion, the shadow wanders. What little sunlight filters through these stagnant waters reveals flickering eyes and, curiously, a pristine silver anchor.

It is restless, trapped in a space that preserves moments in time as perfectly as droplets of amber. There is no path amongst the tangled roots, only a labyrinth that inevitably circles between today and yesterday.

We know no concept of tomorrow here.

There is only the endless circle of memories and the yearning for a future. It screams, seeking some sign of change, some indicator that the rot here may be reborn anew elsewhere. Sometimes, there is an answer.

It is always the same, a haunting melody and a vision of stone lamps, along with the gentle fragrance of flowers. A taunting glimpse into something different that somehow remains as frozen as the present reality.

The answer is fleeting, present for just long enough to perhaps be a fever dream and nothing more. And yet, it is so tantalizing, so real, so close, and so far.

I suppose it is no wonder that the shadow tries to keep its anchor pristine, if only for some sense of grounding in such a directionless plane.
