Muko
Mystery
15285.png
An enormous, gleaming golden Imperial seems a difficult thing to overlook, but Muko is such a gentle, sleepy, easily-distracted dragon that it's often difficult to remember he's around. When awake he is excitable and friendly, open to every dragon, but most of the time he is either asleep or off in daydreams. He adores nature and will watch birds or clouds for hours or cruise around the shallows of the Island, quietly following fish or merely enjoying the feel of fizzling water on his skin. His Fire nature is very strong and leaves heat coursing through his body, manifesting as a permanent rune on his brow.

His somewhat vacant, loner nature makes him hard to have as a close friend, and while everyone is on friendly terms with the huge dragon he is mostly someone to 'hang out with', enjoy as part of a group, or as a warm and comfortable sleeping partner. As an attractive dragon with exceptionally radiant, beautiful scales Muko turns a lot of heads, though he remains oblivious to this and treats any and all attention he gets as platonic.

Many dragons have remarked that they have seen Muko in their dreams. For a Water clan this is not particularly strange, as any dragon with a significant future or past is likely to ripple through the dreams of Driftwood Shore, but Muko never has a significant role in these dreams he's simply.. there, in the background. He also looks different, though dragons are uncertain to describe exactly how.

History: Muko was bought from the dragon market and nobody can really remember why. Already as a pup he was a tremendously appealing dragon, which could quite likely be all the explanation needed. Through all the tumultuous times of Driftwood Shore he has remained a glowing background presence; a friend to many but pacifist and unaware to a fault. He spent most of the War of Swords asleep, except when the Cliff Caves were breached, when out of nowhere a wall of fire from the Imperial forced the Serthis Allies to retreat before they could claim the lives of any more dragons. He has never been clear on the details of this event.

Physical: Muko is an average-sized Imperial made exceptional only by his beauty and the elemental strength within him. He has no fighting ability nor agility and very little muscle tone, though his body radiates heat like a sun-baked rock. In flight he is buoyant and slow, twisting about as though floating. Similarly he swims; unusual for a Fire dragon but with great enjoyment, his skin pressing forth a sparkling veil of silver bubbles like the simmering floor of a cauldron.
Muko seems very capable at manipulating Fire, but does it so naturally and thoughtlessly that he's perplexed when asked to do it on command.

Shh. They haven't found me yet.
15278.png Familiar:
While Baku and Dreameaters still seem to adore Muko, the Night of the Nocturne brought a shining, strange new companion following in Muko's wake. His previous gnarly Dreameater companion doesn't seem to mind in the slightest; its bond with Muko was never strong and the aquatic bear is not above companionably grubbing for worms with the tusked beast.

Kin & Others
fire_rune_20.png
Cindercone Clan:
Having visited Cindercone Clan and had his only nest there, Muko has formed a powerful attachment to the once-Fire clan. It's unusual for Muko to express deeper interest in anything, but the troubles and events of Cindercone are always listened to very carefully. Muko has special affection for his nest partner Sylvanite, and has been a gentle and loving anchor for her introduction into the clan.

Other Imperials:
Muko seems uncomfortable around other Imperials and distances himself from them as politely as possible. With Amiyen gone, the only other Imperial at the Shore is Palse, who distances himself far away from other dragons anyway and rarely emerges from the Sea. The few times Palse and Muko have talked have been very awkward and formal.

Offspring:
Muko's sons are both exalted, but in truth he has more paternal feelings for Cindercone Clan's Alkane. The Fae was found by Muko as an orphan Fire egg and passed on to the then-Fire clan. Alkane has never met Muko and it's doubtful he has any recollection of him, but Muko still thinks very fondly of him and often wonders how he fares.
