______The others say her home is haunted - what nonsense! There’s no one in here but her and her lovely Creature, no wandering spirits or haunting essence. Not even a hint of Shade - but of course not, not out this far on the glacier where Ice’s ancients put such work into binding and freezing every lingering remnant of that accursed thing.

______No, the only ones in Xys’ home are herself and her lovely Creature.

______Occasionally they are visited - friendly neighbors dropping by the check in or a curious hatchling following a dare - but for the most part they are left be. Xys has no need for light - lightning eyes and plasma glow, the light within cuts through shadow - and so her house is dim most often. Sometimes people outside exclaim - is her home really inhabited, with so little sign of life? She rarely needs to leave, after all, but she leaves her windows open, catches the cold air, so refreshing and that, against the warmth of her skin, creates the differential her lightning can call upon.

______Some say there are haunting figures outside her home, glowing orbs of light, ball lightning or St. Elmo’s fire and she laughs in her creaking voice.

______No, no, no such thing. Just her magic as she calls little lightning bugs towards her, or lets her static summon plants. She eats daintily and little but eat she does. Sometimes the noise calls animals too, and those she tosses into her Creature’s waiting maw, crunch, crunch, snap as bones and fur are digested.

______People don’t always like that. A bit too eerie for them, and they knock on her door, in wary curiosity and concern and she gently turns them back.

______In her shadowed home, her shape melds with the darkness. She is not Shadetouched, no, would not be allowed here if she was - but she is certainly something unusual, and she prefers to avoid the stares.
