A healer. That's what he always wanted to be. The one who could help the sick and injured, nurse them back to health so they could grow stronger. But oh, how ironic fate is. What a cruel mistress. Ollphéist didn't ask to end up this way. He was just gathering herbs on the border of the Tangled Wood when he was found by Renfeld himself. Not knowing what Renfeld was, Ollphéist only saw him as a wounded dragon in need of assistance. Not one to forsake his healer's calling, Ollphéist tended to him carefully, mixing a poultice and making sure Renfeld was patched up enough to go on his way. Only then did his patient reveal himself as the Dread Father of the Revenants, thanking Ollphéist for his help by turning him on the spot. Immortality, he said, is a gift, is it not? Ollphéist remains the only dragon turned by Renfeld that is not considered one of the Inner Circle members of the Revenants. Instead he lingers on the outskirts, warning dragons from entering the Dread Father's territory. After all, immortality is not a gift at all. Still, he can't stop everyone from sneaking their way in. Not even the spiral named Galbatroix who captured his heart and what remained of his soul. But Ollphéist turned him away, only wanting him to find happiness far from the Revenants' grasp. Sometimes he still wonders what happened to him to this day... |
