Flour

While many have expressed concerns over the composition of her clan, Flour remains stubborn in her insistence that clan Therefore accepts anyone. Although the one census that was forced on the clan showed only fifteen dragons, it is well known that their clan is far larger. The few outsiders who have been trusted to visit their territory, mostly from clan Shadowpup, reported... concerning members.

Several themes that characterize the infrequent interactions of clan Therefore with other clans include a tendency towards obfuscation, misdirection, and the sowing of chaos, all without telling a single falsehood. Many find it contradictory that a clan full of killers with a penchant for chaos refuse to lie. And yet, not a single example of an intentional lie told by one of the members can be found.

Many of clan Therefore's older members eventually leave in search of new homes. While some go directly to serve a god of their choice, many others find loving homes in other clans, where they often avoid talking about their former clan. However, it is rare for a mating pair to leave together. Instead, the member remaining behind will usually take a new partner. This new partner will often, in a tradition many other clans find disturbing, take the name of the dragon they replace. Many of the members of the clan are actually the second or third to hold their names, in honor of those who have gone before.


Flour's muted coloration often helps put other clans at ease - at least until they actually interact with her. Most assume her striking black markings are artificially created; pigments rubbed into her scales before battle. This could not be farther from the truth. Flour hatched with her markings, and they refuse to be covered. Paints refuse to stick, clothes have been known to burn through in the pattern of her marks, and even clays and dirt simply fell off as though never applied. As one of the foremost warriors of the clan, few dare interfere when she's on the warpath.


When questioned about her possession of what should have been classified documents, Flour will simply smile and say that she has done nothing illegal to acquire these reports. An attentive investigator will note that Flour neglected to mention the other members of her clan. A wise investigator will ask no further questions.

Flour was, in fact, being completely honest when she said she had done nothing illegal to obtain those documents. Truthfully, no member of her clan had done anything illegal either. Jetta, an old friend and relative of many of the clan, had simply given Flour a copy of the reports. Clan Therefore was all too happy to hide this crime by pretending to claim responsibility themselves.
