S T O R Y
Vanture wrapped her tail around a branch to keep herself steady, she peeked through the canopy to observe the jungle floor below. Most Drakakyn traversed through this area in dragon form but remained grounded as vines prevented extensive flight. She felt rather safe and out of sight in her hiding place among bird nests. A pale green dragon with unusual sanguine wings came into view, distinct enough that Vanture immediately knew this was her target. She waited patiently for Vahnina to walk below, she knew what she needed to do. As silently as she could she leaped out of the tree and landed behind her target, she ignored the pain in her legs and threw a dagger at the dragon. Vahnina snarled and whirled around, the dagger didn't strike deep but the dragonbane that laced blade worked fast. Her target shifted into her much more vulnerable Drakakyn form as the plant toxins took over. It should have been easy. She trained years for this moment, she couldn't fail her first test. But when she looked at her target, at Vahnina, her stomach churned. Vahnina's crime was wanting to make Lados a better place to live. Vanture couldn't do it, even if it meant her own downfall. She dropped her remaining dagger and waited by Vahnina until the effects of the dragonbane wore off, Vanture resigned to her fate. The passing weeks came and went in a blur. She'd been brought to the village and kept in a secure uninhabited house. Often she felt the notches taken out of her horns, all the marks of past crimes. Her trial came and she fully expected to receive another notch at the very least, it would likely be her last. She stood before the elder and Vahnina and listened to them without uttering a word. They finally came to a conclusion. No new notches were to be cut in her horns. She wouldn't be exiled or executed. Instead, she was to work with Vahnina for a year, a common punishment for petty crimes. It made no sense. Still, she bowed her head and agreed to the terms, she could only hope there was no catch with the act of kindness. P E R S O N A L Vanture was orphaned at a young age and taken in by Vrenne, who raised her to be one of her assassins. She eventually ran away from that life and lives with her only friend, Vahnina. She is extremely timid and rarely speaks, unless it's with someone close to her and Vahnina. She enjoys walking in the jungle and she hoards smooth rocks.
