evergreen - he/they

Evergreen is the Tidelord's Elemental. He likes his name, saying that it's correct because he keeps the Spire ever green with his water.

They are one of the most powerful Elementals in the Spire, using their magic daily to hold the ocean at bay. The Spire is close to the ocean to let resources be extracted easily, but that means that every storm or big wave needs to be diverted. Evergreen has an enormous amount of power which he uses even when he's not paying attention to it, unconsciously holding back the seas. Whenever there's a drought, they bring the rain, and could freeze over the first mile of ocean around them if he so desired.

Evergreen's magic is sated by manipulating water, but he has to restrain it whenever there's a lapse in things for them to do with it. They've been known to go swimming for days on end, confiding to Asmin that he gets surges of violent feelings whenever he can't use his magic, wanting to hurt or drown or control dragons. They also told her that they've thought often of going into the ocean and never coming out, controlling the ocean from the inside and letting his great power run wild, but they haven't because he knows that the Spire would go underwater without them. Though they promised never to leave, their voice held a note of longing when describing what he could do if he were alone. He and Asmin are close, the only two Elementals who have ever hurt or wanted (even if it wasn't his choice) to hurt another innocent dragon.
