Biography
The clanging of metal, the smell of smoke lingering in the air from burning fires and raging kilns, and the sharp hisses of water bubbling to steam was a symphony of sounds that was common to his ears. Kyndo had grown up around dragons who worked in various trades but many specialized in working with metals; brandishing weapons or specialized pieces for outfits, or even shaping and molding metal sheets into pieces for the crafty kind and their projects, were all in a creative process of their own that few dragos could skillfully master. Kyndo had long had an interest in learning the blacksmithing trade and was lucky enough to be mentored by other clan members who knew of the skills. They passed their knowledge to him in a patient manner, though it didn’t take long for him to learn it. The real skill was in perfecting it.
He spent many hours and days working around the blazing fires, melting metal pieces to be fashioned into rings, hoops, hooks, and fastens, perfecting them down to the tiniest detail. From there he moved onto larger pieces, learning the natural feel of each metal he worked with, learning the way they stressed and gave with each bend, curve, and swing of a mallet. Each minute was spent learning and perfecting, casting aside failed projects to be melted and started anew later.
Kyndo’s time had paid off as he became a renowned blacksmith. Many seeking pieces for their own crafts came to him, bringing offerings of their own for him to work and shape into the pieces they needed, or simply for him to do as he wished with them. Still, as each new idea he mastered, his time spent working on his craft became less obsessive. Less time was spent picking over every inch of detailed metal that lay before him, delicately crafted and laced with accenticity in a way only he knew how to delicately place atop the heated metal’s surface.
