First encounter: *She doesn't even bother to notice your existence, she's too busy sulking in the dark corner*
Nightshade was a dragon who didn't confide in anyone... It was no surprise that she didn't trust anyone outside of the castle as it took an extremely long time to earn her trust... She saw Princess Lelani as an obstacle to her goals. But her main problem grew to be Persilla, who stole the affection of her former partner, Cardinal. Though no longer married to the duke, she was still allowed to visit the palace from time to time to see her daughter, Silver. Even though she was kind of a terrible mother, Nightshade will always love her child.

Estranged from the castle she used to call home and with only tenuous ties to her daughter who still resides there, Nightshade made the difficult decision to leave the Wiretangle Walk. She traveled swiftly to compensate for her doubts, and meandered throughout all of Sorneith. She saw the wonders of the world, and learned of new ways to process the pain in her past. Nightshade let go of her lofty goals of leadership as she met dragons of different clans whose power structures were foreign and non-hierarchical. Though still distrustful and afraid to love again, Nightshade had more children with the powerful Aglorik, who was different enough from Cardinal that she felt a semblance of safety with him. She tried to be a better mother, but these pups were more unruly than even her eldest children and detached themselves as quick as they could. Algorik lost interest in her, and Nightshade was not surprised at the rejection. She kept moving. Nighshade's hardened emotional shell was cracking, and she cried softly as she traveled through shadows and forests, missing her steadfast daughter. Her tears evaporated when she stepped foot into the Ashfall Waste, not far from where she had started her journey. The heat was like a warm embrace after the sharp sting of her tears. A clan near the border welcomed Nightshade into the Magma Sanctum and she felt at home for the first time in a long time. Nightshade rested her heart, body, and soul in the comfortable heat, and the dragons around her gave her much comfort. They assured her that no matter where she ended up in life, no matter what trouble she got herself into, Nightshade would always be welcome back at the Magnum Sanctum. Nightshade opened her wounded heart to these dragons, and she found it in herself to trust once more - to trust that they really would welcome her no matter how long she was away. Her heart full, Nightshade thanked the lovely clan, and assured them that she would love to return some day. With a tearful goodbye, and a pang of regret, Nightshade left her second home. She had a new mission, a mission of love.
