The Cats of Ulthar

Nith herself is a blithe and childish creature, spending her time making merry mischief among the residents of Sanctum. She speaks very rarely, instead communicating with facial expressions and small feline sounds, and acts much more like a cat wearing a dragon’s skin than anything else. She’s often been seen twirling her lustrous pearl around on the ground, and watching with wide eyes as the light dances across its surface.

Where she came from is a mystery, just as much as where she plans to go once she decides that it’s time to move on. Nith doesn’t seem to know herself, and appears to be only occupied with the present. There’s a slim chance that her strange and goofy behavior is a front— a carefully laid facade to conceal a dark, manipulative, and conniving nature— but certainly she’s not one to think so deeply about anything? It’s hard to imagine anything of the sort as one watches her stumbling over tree roots as she chases bugs in the grass, or falling off of warm rocks while trying to sun herself.

While she can be seen as a pest sometimes around Sanctum, inserting herself into others’ work like a nosy hatchling, she’s generally seen in a positive light by the majority of the town. Her mannerisms are somewhat endearing, and provide easy amusement when it’s needed. She doesn’t seem to have a favorite among the dragons here, and will flit between bothering any number of them whenever the whim takes her. Sometime she can be easy to rile up, but her moods are just as fickle as a feline’s, and she’ll soon be happily galloping through the square again and looking for new distractions.
